Upcoming MN Water Resource Conference promises wide-ranging, indepth topics and research-based solutions

The 2021 Minnesota Water Resources Conference remains virtual this year, with organizers promising to build on last year’s Zoom conference success. Dates for the conference are October 19-20, 2021.

The Minnesota Stormwater Seminar Series continues to be a critical component of the Center’s Stormwater Research and Technology Transfer Program since 2019.  The Series brings nationally recognized experts and esteemed researchers to Minnesota to share their knowledge and experiences.

Free classes teach homeowners the value of maintaining septic systems, well testing

The Onsite Sewage Treatment Program (OSTP) teamed up with instructors from the Minnesota Department of Health and U of M Extension, offering workshops to SSTS Professionals and private well/septic system owners. Seventeen workshops were offered to homeowners across Minnesota, hosted by local partners, with 700 citizens attending. The OSTP trained nearly 900 professionals at fifteen workshops.

Protecting your private well during drought

Approximately 75 percent of Minnesotans use groundwater as a drinking water source and almost all water used for agricultural irrigation comes from groundwater. During times of drought, it is even more important to be conscious of water use and maintenance of your well and equipment.
