About this workshop:
This two-day workshop is designed for those who inspect, maintain, or direct maintenance on stormwater control measures and practices, such as ponds and infiltration systems. Attendees will learn the fundamentals of operation, how to assess practices to judge if they are functional or need maintenance, and to create and execute a maintenance work plan to keep the practice functioning. All attendees will receive a certificate of completion and those who pass the voluntary exam will be certified in Stormwater Management Practice Maintenance by the University of Minnesota Erosion and Stormwater Management Certification Program.
CLASS GOALS AND LEARNING OBJECTIVES
Participants will be able to define, classify and explain the fundamental forms and functions of stormwater practices and their related maintenance needs.
Participants will be able to identify, apply and analyze stormwater practices using visual inspection forms to define and implement a preliminary Stormwater Practices Maintenance
Program. Participants will enhance their knowledge of the importance of stormwater practice maintenance communication with stakeholders and citizens and resources available for effective outreach.
Become a certified stormwater practices maintenance professional.
