Riparian Hydrology in Southern MN

This project is looking at how shallow subsurface water flow behaves in riparian areas alongside streams in southern Minnesota. The goal of the project is to gain a better understanding of how water from uplands reaches streams. The project is especially tailored to areas where agriculture is prevalent, so that we can find out more about the paths and timescales of subsurface water flow from agricultural fields to streams. Results and findings from the project will help to guide water management and promote water quality in agricultural streams. This will contribute to the larger goal of making agriculture sustainable and protecting the environment in agricultural areas.
