Winter 2013 Student News

Christine Dolph received her Ph. D. in September 2012. Her dissertation was titled, “Defining Stream Integrity Using Biological Indicators.” Dolph was advised by Bruce Vondracek.

Jessica Richard received her M. S. in July 2012. Her thesis was titled, “The Influence of Urbanization on Waterbird and Anuran Use of Urban Wetlands.” Richard was advised by Todd Arnold and Deb Swackhamer.

Jacqueline Welch received her M. S. in August 2012. Her thesis was titled, “Comparison of the Structure and Composition of Bacterioplankton Communities in the Ballast Water of Commercial Ships and the Duluth-Superior Harbor.” Welch was advised by Randall Hicks.

Elizabeth Welsh received her M. S. in August 2012. Her thesis was titled, “A Dual Dye Approach to Measuring Sunlight in Lotic Systems.” Welsh was advised by Elizabeth Austin-Minor.

Melissa Wilson received her Ph. D. in July 2012. Her dissertation was titled, “Factors Affecting the Successful Establishment of an Overseeded Winter Rye Cover Crop in Northern Climates.” Wilson was advised by John Baker and Deborah Allan.
